Paul Werné has held executive management positions in the legal field of important multinational groups, for example France Telecom / Orange, where between 2000 and 2010 he successively held the position of general counsel of the satellite and broadcast transmission division, then of its non-European operations, and Alcatel-Lucent, as General Counsel for Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. From 2012 to 2020, he was Group General Counsel of Etisalat PLC (today, «E+»), the national telecommunications operator of the UAE active in approx. twenty countries across the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Paul has extensive experience specifically in company law and corporate governance, M&A, compliance, competition and telecom, and international arbitration. Trained as an independent Board member he has occupied positions at Management or Supervisory Boards in France and abroad (mainly UAE, Australia, Ivory Coast). His experience has taught him that a successful career as in-house counsel in major business groups relies at least as much on organizational and management skills as on the knowledge of the Law, and he has wished to share this expertise by participating in the creation of Corail Consultants.
